New uncommercial samples : on an amateur beat : manuscript, [186-?].

Autograph manuscript signed, with numerous deletions, corrections, and interliniations by the author. Written in pen on blue paper. The story was published in "All the Year Round," 1869. The central character is Poodles, a mongrel dog, found starving at the door of the East London Children's Hospital. Around his neck he wore a collar inscribed "Judge not Poodles by external appearances."
